Diplomate of National Board (DNB) Program
Princess Durru Shehvar Children’s & General Hospital has been accredited by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Science (NBEMS), New Delhi for imparting training on different broad specialty DNB programs. The duration of the course for Post MBBS candidates is for 3 years. Candidates who have already completed a recognized PG Diploma program of 2 years in a particular specialty can undergo a 2 years Post Diploma DNB Programme in the same specialty.

Medical education leadership and administration:
The DNB Programme at Princess Durru Shehvar Children’s & General Hospital is under the leadership of Dr.S.V.Masood – Medical Superintendent & Administrator and the Administrative work is under DNB Coordinator Dr. Imran Khan and Academic Manager Mr. Mohammed Faisal. The thesis submission is vetted by the Institutional Ethics Committee of Princess Durru Shehvar Children’s & General Hospital.
Each of the above DNB & Diploma courses has a designated Department HoD and DNB Coordinator. They work closely with the Academic Head and DNB Administrative Office to ensure full compliance with all DNB and National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences requirements.

FACILITIES OFFERED TO DNB STUDENTS
The students admitted to Princess Durru Shehvar Children’s & General Hospital for DNB & Diploma courses are offered good clinical training. The hospital has a library, which is open from 8 am till Midnight. Apart from hard copies of journals and textbooks, an on-line Library Clinical Key is also available to the reader on the library PCs with internet services available in the hospital campus.

Each academic department having dedicated faculty, residents and staff with a defined location in the hospital and SOPs for discharge of their duties.

There are various components training that are imparted during three year tenure of DNB Residents with PDSC&G Hospital. Some of them are listed below:-
🔸Bedside Clinic Training.
🔸Assisting in all major & minor operations / procedures.
🔸Performance of minor surgeries / procedures independently.
🔸On call duties during emergency hours under supervision.
🔸Assistance in General Surgery.
🔸Attending Out -patient Departments.
TUITION FEE & STIPENDS
🔹The NBEMS trainees have to pay the tuition fee as per the norms of the NBEMS.
🔹The hospital will pay the NBEMS trainees a basic stipend as prescribed by the NBEMS or according to State Government policy (whichever is higher)
